We use two methods to purify water: Reverse Osmosis and Steam Distillation.
We start by removing calcium and other hardness minerals from City of Austin municipal water through our commercial grade, dual, alternating tank softener system and removing chlorine and other compounds in our Granular Activated Carbon filter. Then we use "microfiltration" to remove sediment prior to the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system or Distiller.
The RO process involves forcing water through a semi-permeable "Thin Film Composite" membrane under high pressures - 150 to 200 pounds per square inch - which separates the pure water molecules from the much larger contaminants. Only the smaller water molecules pass through the membrane and are saved.
Distillation is much like nature's hydrologic cycle of evaporation, condensation and precipitation. Our 800 gallons per day vapor compression distiller from Norland International boils the softened water at 220 degrees F., collects and cools the steam to condense it back into one of the purest forms of drinking water available. The distilled water is then passed through a coconut shell granulated activated carbon filter.
Both types of water are Ozonated for purity.
Then we bottle in our federally mandated "Clean Room" environment behind large viewing windows. We invite you to stop by anytime and view the actual equipment and processes.
